Joseph & Olga deMartino met at Duro Test Lighting, a manufacturer of long-life incandescent bulbs. In 1954, they founded Jademar in the basement of their home in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Jademar, which comes from Joseph’s initials J.A. deMar, was formed to focus on the International markets to give better service.

Their sons, Joseph, Jr. and Gary began working for Jademar in 1976, starting from the ground up and learning all of the aspects of the company from their parents. In 1985, they took over the company, with Joseph, Jr. becoming President, and Gary becoming Executive Vice President.

Joseph & Olga developed many business and personal relationships around the world based on honesty and integrity. These values have been passed along to their children Joseph, Jr. and Gary, to the third generation Erica, and throughout the Jademar organization. Most employees range in tenure from 10 to 25 years.

In order to achieve our company's goals, Joseph, Jr. and Gary began traveling to China to develop our own line of products. Our brand, JADCO, was developed in 1995 and at the present time is recognized in over 40 countries in various continents. As technologies changed from magnetic to electronic and LED, we introduced our line of PhotonX LED products. We recently expanded into Solar LED products under the brand PhotonX Solare. These brands of quality products not only help to save money, but also protect our environment.

With the majority of our business being International, we have been fortunate to serve the same countries and accounts for over six decades. The relationships that Joseph developed with companies overseas have been passed down now to second, and third generations.

As our company continues its growth and expansion, we decided to diversify into North America with our competitively priced, energy- efficient and dependable products, with UL and DLC Certifications, under the new brand of Jademar Lighting.

In 2022 we celebrated our 68th anniversary - Joseph & Olga would be proud to see how Jademar has grown.
